Kudu spiral is made with a combination of Peyote and Herringbone stitches the artist calls the "Kudu Spiral Stitch".

"After developing the spiral, I took a break to visit my local zoo. One of my favorite animals, the Lesser Kudu Antelope from Africa was very close to the fence rubbing his long spiral horns on a tree. As if to pose for a photo, he turned his face to me and I saw my spiral."
